Ana Rod (A Coruña, 1982) works with matter and the objectual, she masters ceramics, the visual and the tactile are a premise, the observation of nature and the study of biology a constant.
In his works he alludes to a state prior to the concretion of the material where the possibilities are infinite and where Nature reinvents itself.
Combining metracylate and ceramics with copper and cement structures, Ana Rod creates an apparently docile, friendly, ‘cute’, very attractive and intoxicating universe that hides a certain formal rebelliousness and very few complexes. The approach to her works usually implies a certain bewilderment; they are works that appeal to the senses beyond logical understanding. In order to deconstruct figurative language as we know it, Ana Rod gives priority to other elements such as colour, rhythm or texture, superimposing the emotional and sensitive in her works and endowing them with an exquisite technique and quality.
