Cecilia Paredes is an international reference in photography with a very consolidated career in the international scene, having exhibited in museums and international art centers such as the Museum of Contemporary Art and Design and the Museum of Art in Costa Rica, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Panama, the Museum of Modern Art in Guatemala, the University of Salamanca in Spain, the University of Indiana and Humboldt University in California, the Museum of Modern Art in Moscow or the Vladimir Palace of the Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg, Russia, among others.

In September 2010 she exhibited at the ICPNA Miraflores in Lima and was awarded as the best exhibition of foreign artist in Chile. In 2011 Cecilia had a solo exhibition at the World Bank in Washington DC and in 2013 she was invited to the 2013 Photography Biennial in Bogota, Colombia. In 2014, she participated in the Photography Festival in Pingyao, China, winning the 2014 Excellence Award there. Cecilia Paredes received the ICPNA National Printmaking Award in Lima, Peru, the Francisco Amighetti Award, Costa Rica, First Prize at the Cervecería Costa Rica Biennial and First Mention at the Central American Biennial. In 2022 she was awarded the Iberoamericana de Toro Prize (Spain) and the Estampa Prize, Madrid (Spain). Also in 2022, her work was the image of the Cannes International Film Festival.

Her work is part of the collection of the San Antonio Museum, Texas, the Costa Rican Museum of Art, the Museum of Contemporary Art of Panama, the Museum of Contemporary Art and Design of Costa Rica, the University of San Antonio, Texas, the Museo del Barrio in New York, Deutsche Collection, World Bank, Wifredo Lam Center, the Natural Art Museum of California, the IILA Institute in Rome, Italy and the Museum of Modern Art in Moscow, among others.
