Graduated in Fine Arts, Ruth Quirce has developed an artistic career defined by an ongoing investigation into processes of transformation, entropy, and the fragility of visual and conceptual balances. Her work combines poetic reflection with a rigorous approach to painting and installation, exploring the boundaries between order and chaos, construction and loss.
Throughout her career, she has presented numerous solo exhibitions, including Viajes nocturnos del sol (Galería Blanca Soto, Madrid, 2004), Pequeño Apocalipsis (Galería Blanca Soto, Madrid, and Galería La Oruga Azul, Valencia, 2006), Entropía (Galería Del Sol St, Santander, 2008), and Entropía II (Galería Blanca Soto, Madrid, 2009). In 2012, she presented Componiendo una entropía at the Centro Municipal de Exposiciones in Elche, Alicante, followed by El instante decisivo at Galería Blanca Soto, Madrid, in 2013. Her most recent exhibition, The Best Place to Be (Galería Blanca Soto, 2017), consolidated her position within the contemporary Spanish art scene.
She has also participated in numerous group exhibitions in Spain and abroad, including Circuitos de la Comunidad de Madrid (2004 and 2005), the Premio Caja Castilla-La Mancha at the Museo de Santa Cruz, Toledo (2004), and the Casa de Velázquez as part of the Premio Caja de Guadalajara (2005). Her work has been featured in international art fairs and projects such as ARTEBA (Buenos Aires), ARTESANTANDER, FORO SUR (Cáceres), ARTE LISBOA, SCOPE Miami, ARCO Madrid, and Nulla dies sine linea, a travelling exhibition shown in Berlin, Lisbon, Seoul, Chicago, and London.
In recent years, she has participated in exhibitions such as Lenguajes en papel VII (Galería Fernando Pradilla, Madrid, 2020), Movers and Makers (Hans Hoetink Fine Art, Madrid, 2023), Identidades (Estudio Esquina, Madrid, 2024), and the International Exhibition of Plastic Arts of Valdepeñas (2024).
