Al final me asomé

Exhibition by Jesús Zurita at the Gema Llamazares Gallery

«I would like to remember this exhibition as fertile ground»

After prolonging her last exhibition on the occasion of the months without activity that we have been forced to live, once the lack of activity is over and in her usual schedule, Gema Llamazares opens the long-awaited exhibition of the artist Jesús Zurita next Friday, July 3rd.

This will be the artist’s second exhibition in the gallery, which under the title “At the end I looked out” shows his most purifying and cathartic works where he looks inward after a period of hard confinement.

As he says: “I want to remember this exhibition as fertile ground. A place for rooting, twisting and rotting. I am not going to talk about these times and their icy hands. I have been frozen and when the exhibition has claimed me I have only been able to turn my head and unpack what is there. And all that has fallen is me: he who was and he who will be.

This exhibition, now that I can understand it, has been silently nourished in the same way that it speaks to me.
