Entre fuegos, agua

Victoria Iranzo
From December 19, 2025 to January 24, 2026

There is a saying in China that when two people love each other and are far apart, they share a river, and thus the two flow together until they finally converge.

The elements shared by the universe have been revered for centuries, as we recognize ourselves in them and find our strengths and weaknesses in each of their states. In the Hindu tradition there are five, but to our eyes there are millions.

Victoria Iranzo, for the first time at the Llamazares Gallery, shows a series of ineffable natures in “Entre fuegos, agua” (Between Fires, Water), an exhibition where the indescribable nature of her experience is presented to us in a visual way so that the poetry of her gaze penetrates our psyche with strokes and colors.

Through her mountains, which she experiences as an immovable refuge to which she can always return, volcanoes where her spirit explodes, and rivers that run through the landscapes of memory, she introduces us to her Eastern-style spiritual impulses, to which Iranzo has clung in her most traumatic moments.

The wound heals because nature heals.

These visions arouse a nostalgia for herself to which she returns again and again to observe her own iconography. A point of support for syncretic aesthetics.

All these landscapes are nature and, at the same time, ontological discourse. Mere existence and the questions it raises are our essential elements, which, when reflected in the water of Iranzo, also flow and overflow.

“Entre fuegos, agua” reveals where the artist comes from, where she is now, and where she is headed. It is a journey so personal that it inevitably becomes universal through each of the works she paints.

The color palette, both in the pictorial and sculptural pieces, speaks of that haven of peace that is the studio. A sacred place where pigments are mixed as if in a ceremony.

Iranzo draws on the emotional through the landscape. A romantic nod for this thoroughly contemporary artist who uses the present to propel new visions of life, its joys and its sorrows.

The artist’s heart opens to show us what she is made of.

“Entre fuegos, agua” is a confessional exhibition where beauty generates a dissolute pleasure for the viewer: the sublimation of the primal spirit as something worthy of eternal admiration.
